Personal history

Born into a poor family, Rorik helped out with what he could when he was old enough. Spent most of his time watching over his younger brother, Ferren, so that his parents could do more work to keep food on the table. Father was a wizard, did some performances and masking his magic as theatrical illusions. His father, Barboski, taught a simple cantrip to Ferren when hes was 6 years old and Rorik was 10. Grew up in Livingston for most of their life until they had to escape.

Was involved in the Solamine guard for 2 years.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Joined the militia at a very young age and learned how to handle various weapons to protect his family, ever since the age of 14.

Failures & Embarrassments

Almost failed in protecting his younger brother after an incident where he and his younger brother were playing with other kids, and Ferren wanted to show their friends the little spell he had learned from his father. After a few days, a neighbor of his family had came by and offered some fruits to Rorik and his little brother as his parents were out working. Not knowing the fruits were possibly poisoned or fouled in some way, and thinking his brother needed the food more, he offered his fruit to his brother who took it happily and munched away. The day after, Ferren became very ill, Barboski managed to find a healer to save Ferren's life, but it never fully healed him. More recently, he had failed in keeping the rest of his family alive.

Mental Trauma

Seeing what had happened and what he learned from Rorik, Barboski said that Rorik needed to help his mother and his brother get as far away from Livingston as they could, as "bad people" were going to hunt them down and that the friends they had played with days prior, had all died of mysterious ilnesses. Rorik pleaded with Barboski to come with, but Barboski said that he needed to stay behind so the "bad people of the circle" would think that we were still there when we left the city. Barboski made Rorik promise that he would make sure to keep his family safe. Years after once they had made their way to Solamine after many months of travel, the confusion and anger had welled up to the point that Rorik is convinced that in order to keep his family safe that if any Circle of Echos members were ever near, he would kill them so they would no longer be a threat to his family or any other poor soul that does not deserve whatever cruel death the Circle has planned for them. His brother and mother are dead and he has troubles conveying proper emotions.

Morality & Philosophy

When it comes to the Circle of Echoes, Rorik believes they are like a weed ridden field that is plaguing the crops and killing them, so he believes that the best way to get rid of them, is to burn the weeds out to the root and reseed what was lost before the burning. Now he is conflicted with the events of the creature (aboleth). He honestly wants to be a good person and after the event of being mind controlled, but also aware of everything happening, he doesn't know what to do anymore and is now operating on auto pilot of following any and all directives the party gives him.

Motivation

His original motivations are keeping his family safe and out of poverty, and ridding the world of the organization that most likely killed his father and nearly killed his brother. His more recent motivations are doing something worthy of positive note before he inevitably kicks the proverbial bucket.

Likes & Dislikes

Rorik likes sharing stories, relaxing by the waterside with a fishing rod, and showing off his skills whenever he isnt blundering about. Rorik dislikes the Circle of Echoes and everything that they stand for, people who show little to no empathy, and bears.

Vices & Personality flaws

Sometimes gets a little too emotional when under stress. At the first sign of danger Rorik's immediate reaction is to figure out how to keep himself alive.

Hygiene

Rorik Likes to keep as clean as possible and will bathe every couple of days if he has access to water and soap.
