Ara

The Ara (singular: Arath) are one of the two groups of natural immortals who exist in the Universe. There name in the old Oeain Tongue mean Creators, referring to their role in the creation of Eir. To most of the people on Esra the Ara are gods and the divine beings of virtue. As Eorr is the night sky, Amaera is the day sky and is what bleeds light and magic through the sun.

Origins

The origins of the Ara are the subject of many, often conflicting, creation myths. This account will endeavour to create one singular narrative though mentions of alternate stories may be included.   The El Ari either through a union of the two great creators; The Great Serpent, Dirma and The Great Cat, Sori, or their conflict came into the world. See the Myths category for all the creation stories.

Nature

The Ara have certain sphere they represent and control. The name of each Ara and the sphere they govern changes somewhat depending on each pantheon, although their are many similarities between each pantheon. The only constants are Frio, the creator and god of fire, and Arella, the goddess of love and beauty.   Unlike the Darae the Ara are said to care deeply on a personal level for the mortal races they created. It is unknown if the Ara can be killed, there have been reports of a lesser Ara, Kishan, being killed, however this report hasn't been authenticated and as such may not be truthful.

Ara Worship

The pantheon of gods worshiped by various races is derived almost exclusively of Ara, (a notable exception is the Dark Elves or Ruaoea who worship the Daraic Triumvirate), each race has chosen to deify a different set of Ara, often with their own creation story.
