The Northern Clans

Collection of clans constantly at war with one another while also working together towards the common goal of acquiring territory and strength in the south. The clans are comprised mostly of humans and goliaths but all races are welcome and considered equal. The Northern Clans are the most sea worthy nation, constructing impressive raiding and trading ships. Although there are many clans with many kings most northern kings consider king Erik Sveinherd ruling in Eriksholmar to be king of kings with the exception of King Ulfgar Rolandson, who is vying for power in Ulgegat. Their home territory is in the harsh lands of the north where farming is difficult and the winters are long and deadly. These conditions have made the northern clans hard men always eager to conquer new territories in more fertile lands to the south. This creates constant tension with The Mystra Theocracy and The Mori Empire both of which despise the warriors from the north who are always raiding their territory. The Northern Clans speak their own language known as Northerner which somewhat resembles a cross between common and orc.
