Noita

Noita is the unofficial capital city of the Murkwood Swamp and the original home of The Black Coven. A large shanty town on the banks of the swamp, it is a hot spot of crime and smuggling. For many years goods have passed through this town to be directed towards other countries across the continent.

Demographics

The most diverse settlement in the swamp, you will find a multitude of different races here. The most populous are still Humans and Yuan-ti, but there are many others who call this place home. Many are of a poor background, but there are a few upper class homes here and a good number of middle class. Though many of these people might have made their money from less than legal means.

Government

As the largest settlement in the Murkwood, the city has the largest council within the state.

Defences

This is the only settlement in the swamp with a wall, only made of wood but it does it's job to keep out predators.

Industry & Trade

Potion making and hunting, the life blood of this town. So long as you don't look at the massive smuggling trade that helps keep this place afloat.

Infrastructure

The town is built onto the banks of a large lake in the swamp. Due to its size, it has a number of industrial features used for construction and food production, though nothing on the scale of other capitals. A distinct lack of sewer systems here, only out houses which go directly into the swamp. It doesn't smell good.

Districts

The city is split into five distinct districts.   The Trade District, a place where shops and business is conducted. This is also where the town hall is situated. The entertainment district, a place where the inns, pubs, and singular brothel is located. The slums, a stretch of the poorest houses in the town, full of crime and misery. The mansions, a small area of town locked off behind a wall where there are a handful of mansions for the richest in this swamp. The industry district, set across the edge of the town near the water, this is where the hunters live and store their goods, as well as where the local dockyards are for the small boats that move through the swamp.

Guilds and Factions

A thieves guild exists in this town, though finding them requires someone to know the right people.

Points of interest

The biggest point of interest here would be the Coven's Mansion, it is a rotting building that lies about half a day's journey from the city.
