Boundless Swamp

The Boundless Swamp is near the center of the kingdom of Holding and just northeast of the city of Helbenik. The swamp has been around since before the Demon Wars, but a few of the oldest of the elves remember when the land was just a plains. Most memory and history tells that the swamp came into existence around the time of the grand cataclysm that joined the northern continents. Few ever go into the swamp for even fewer return. The swamps edge has been measured and map, but that is not where it got its name. Those that have wandered in and actually returned, say the swamp stretches on for miles more than its outer borders say it should be which is where the swamp gets its name. The stories of those that have returned from the depths of the swamp include creatures that are not found anywhere else in the world, some believe these creatures are from a different time. None of these creatures leave the swamp, in fact, none of the more common swamp creatures leave the swamp, though they are known to be there, lizardfolk, dyrads, shock lizards, and the like have all been seen at the border of the swamp from passers-by.
