Basic Familiar Options

  Basic familiar options are available to any character who takes the Acquire Familiar feat.
Familiar Prereq. Special
Bat Master gains a +3 bonus on Listen checks
Cat Master gains a +3 bonus on Move Silently checks
Ferret Master gains a +2 bonus on Reflex saves
Fish Owl (Owl) Master gains a +3 bonus on Spot checks in shadows
Gyrfalcon (Hawk) Master gains +3 bonus on Spot checks
Hawk Master gains a +3 bonus on Spot checks in bright light
Hedgehog Master gains a +1 natural armor bonus
Huitzil Master gains a +3 bonus on Sleight of Hand checks when the master and familiar are within 1 mile of each other.
Lemming (Rat) Master gains +2 bonus on Listen and Spot checks
Leopard Larger or larger Master gains a +2 bonus on Move Silently checks
Mouse Master gains a +2 bonus on Move Silently checks
Owl Master gains a +3 bonus on Spot checks in shadows
Owl (Medium) Larger or larger Master gains a +2 bonus on Move Silently checks
Parrot (Raven) Master gains a +3 bonus on Appraise checks. A parrot familiar can speak a language of its master’s choice as a supernatural ability.
Puffin (Raven) Master gains +2 bonus on Swim and Survival checks
Rat Master gains a +2 bonus on Fortitude saves
Raven Master gains a +3 bonus on Appraise checks. A raven familiar can speak one language of its master’s choice as a supernatural ability.
Raven (Medium) Larger or larger Speaks one language
Screech Owl Master gains a +2 bonus on Move Silently checks
Sea Snake Master gains a +3 bonus on Bluff checks
Snake Tiny viper. Master gains a +3 bonus on Bluff checks
Snowy Owl (Owl) Has low-light vision; master gains +3 bonus on Move Silently checks
Thrush Speaks one language
Viper Snake, Medium Larger or larger
Weasel Master gains a +2 bonus on Reflex saves
Wolverine Larger or larger Master gains a +2 bonus on Reflex saves
