Lands of Fire

The Lands of Fire are vicious and inhospitable. Only the strongest and bravest of heroes venture into them. After climbing mountains to leave the surrounding kingdoms, you are able to look out across a jagged and broken landscape pockmarked with steaming pools of lava and smoking volcanoes. None come to this place without reason or a pile of gold waiting for their return. Some of those reasons are to collect rare spell components or to take something from a dragon hoard. There are no maps of the area. Once someone had tried but died before half was complete. Later adventurers found the half of a map that was completed. They tried to follow it, but with the continues eruptions, the landscape had changed and the map was useless.

Geography

Lands of Fire is miles of volcanoes, lava pools, and broken, jagged rocks.

Fauna & Flora

There are almost no plants that grow in this land, wood tends to burn as the volcanoes continuously erupt. Creatures, animals, and monsters, on the other hand, do make this place home. They are hardier creatures than the normal forest wolf. Here a hero will find the domain of several red dragons, the only reason they don't war with each other is that there is one ancient one living here that is truly the father of all the other red dragons in the Lands of Fire. Other creatures stay away from the dragons or serve them directly. There are magma mephits, fire salamanders, magmins, azers and Fire Elementals. In some of the caves within one might find some oozes.

Natural Resources

Many minerals are found in the Lands of Fire. Bauxite, Nickel, Gold, Diamonds, Copper, Lead, Zinc, and Obsidian. Unlike many of the other mountains that hold these kinds of minerals, there are not any mines peppering the place full of holes. It is rumored that there is also a gate that goes directly to the elemental plane of fire, which holds many of its own, unique minerals.
