Frost Plague

The first records of Frost Plague originate from the northern areas of Koljorn where ice-clad, zombie-like creatures were described attacking villages indescriminately. The infectious curse gets its name from the look of frost upon the affected creature, and the frost is its method of spreading the curse. The frost sticks to clothing and the skin and spreads towards warmth, sucking it away as it expands and taking only hours to fully kill its victim by hypothermia.

The only known non-magical way to remove Frost Plague is to melt it away with close proximity to fire before it consumes its victim.

Once consumed, the affected creature will take on an undead-like state and will actively seek to spread the frost. They will appear pale blue or white, with frost coating their skin, hair and any clothing. A creature can become affected by frost plague even if it's infected after death and can be reinfected upon contact. The only secure way to prevent a creature from succumbing to frost plague is to burn the flesh.

Creatures resistant to cold damage take over twice as long to fall to Frost Plague, and creatures with immunity to cold damage are entirely unaffected. Conversely, those infected with Frost Plague are resistant to cold damage and those fully consumed by the plague are immune to cold damage.
