Seyoumene Merchant Council
A Plutocratic civic council composed of the wealthiest merchants in the small town of Seyoumi. One citizen is elected by the council to serve as Haty-a (equivalent to mayor) every 30 to 40 years, or if the currently sitting Haty-a dies. This person is almost always a person of means, so corruption is not uncommon between the council and the Haty-a.
The council currently numbers six individuals:
- Asiamer, 32-year old Male Halfling carpenter. Maneuvered himself into domination of the local lumber import, and export of finished wooden products, such as furniture
- Nofre, 40-year old Female Wugui Jeweler. Settled here 20 years ago to leverage her jewelry on the caravan trade road, subsequently becoming wealthy
- Djedihi, 32-year old Male Human Innkeeper. Inherited his father's monopoly over the city's inns and taverns. Has maintained fair prices for their continued operation.
- Amuret, 53-year old Female Human Trader. Personally responsible for the continued regular stops of caravans intent upon crossing the desert Eastbound.
- Webaendju, 18-year old Male Ratfolk Banker. relatively recent arrival to Seyoumi. Seems to have an absurd amount of liquid assets, and offers high-value loans with appropriate collateral.
- Awiset, 44-year old Female Kaheb-Ma Mason. Matron of the oldest Kaheb-ma family in Seyoumi. She employees nearly all the male Kaheb-ma in town as miners and stonemasons.
