Somaticism

Somaticism is a way of Casters channeling Magic through themselves and focusing it into Spells. This Focus of Magic use relies on kinetic movements, with more complex movements equalling more complex spells. It is the most basic form of Magic use, and as such many of the more experienced Casters tend to look down on this way of Magic (even though many of them likely practiced this sort of Magic when they were younger). It is oftentimes used in combination with an Item of Attunement, as they seem to be able to amplify each other and are able to Channel Magic that neither Focus would be capable of alone. Interestingly enough, despite the mockery it receives, many Casters use this type of Focus subconsciously - for example, someone may end up clapping their hands to create some light, or snap their fingers to set them alight.
