Creatures of the Night - A folk poem told to children to make sure they come in at night
Sharp teeth, sharp claws, sharp eyes to see you in the night!
Come now the Creature of the Night,
Come to take you away from light!
Come now, inside we go, to Home's safe embrace.
The air is clear, the moon is bright, but make not a sound, nor a sight!
Else you'll be asking for a fright!
There is no warmth, no safety out, none to be found nor sought.
You'd best listen, to the tales and stories, those legends you brush by so fast.
Elders warned you and yet you thought them silly,
But now, BUT NOW, you'll know, to never be so quick to go.
Those sharp teeth, sharp claw, sharp eyes to see you in the night,
they'll come and take you from the light.
