Crimson Snakes

The Crimson Snakes are an order of monks that are focused on the teachings of Father Lelden who teaches that temptation is the greatest enemy to enlightenment. Through violence if necessary his followers enforce his divine guidance. Sects gather followers through fear of the current state of the divine pantheon of Etharis, the followers claim that if all follow Lelden who was chosen by an archangel then the gods will return and restore the world, these sects also use violence to stalk brothels and taverns to abduct sinners and re-educate them.

Structure

Father Lelden has an inner circle of three trusted bishops that oversee the different sects of his order. The bishops have no will of their own and are basically extensions of Father Lelden and from them they each have a web of smaller Acolytes that are mentally linked to everything except Father Lelden. A hive mind basically where all the followers are incapable of feeling pain or responding to those who question them. Written on their flesh are the tenets of his order and they follow them to the letter.

Culture

Father Lelden was meditating on a mountain when he saw the first angels fall, attaining true enlightenment years before by letting go of all earthly attachment, when an angel fell near him he was compelled by its holy nature to lend his aid. His skills fell short of healing the wounds of the angel and with its dying breath it bestowed the last power that it possessed onto Father Lelden and with that he became chosen to lead people into the grace of gods once more.

Public Agenda

Father Lelden wants to bring salvation to everyone and everyone must be saved even if they must first be struck down. His followers complete their holy mandates without hesitation even if people stand within their way and they will bring Father Lelden's holy orders. Those who stand against his holy word are enemies of the true faith.

Assets

While the monks are wide spread they are mostly linked together meaning they can seamlessly integrate into most cities and can be activated at any point, ordered to complete a task from Father Lelden.

History

After Father Lelden became enlightened and blessed he set forth on forging an empire connected all to him. Hunting down the strongest fighters of his time and enhancing their studies after training them in martial arts and enlightening them before linking them to his will. Then they set out to do the same thing and before long he had hundreds of hidden sleeper agents within the most populated cities. So far he has occasionally used them to hunt down devils or sinful citizens before forcing them to carry out the will of Father Lelden.
