Tiefling

Occasionally, an Arch Daemon, or a being of similar power or malevolence, will curse a mortal line, tainting an offspring into becoming a Tiefling. Similar in frequency to the existence of Aasimar, Tieflings are considered a blessing by darker societies and an ill omen by more pious ones. Due to this, few Tieflings ever make it out of infancy. Those that do usually take up a life on the fringes of society, seeking fame, acceptance, or fate as a daring adventurer, braving the horrors of the night that Etharis readily provides. Living as a being marked by a demonic force, Tieflings learn to disguise their odd features around certain circles, knowing full well what will happen to them if they end up on the wrong side of superstition.

Due to the dark omens surrounding their birth as well as a high rate of infant mortality, no subraces of Tiefling have been studied or confirmed in Etharis.
