Ethelere

The lands of Ethelere are a jewel among those of Jutrurn. So much so that it could be often referred to as ‘The Land of Fairy Tales’.   It has a stable economy, leadership, ample food a high level of security and its people have more autonomy than any other nation.   It sticks out of the bottom of the vast continent, Jutrurnia. Approximately 600 by 1000 miles in area, It’s coastline stretches all the way around apart from the long mountainous Northern border. Fishing villages dot the coastline and provide a large part of the day to day sustenance for many of Ethelere’s people. The southern lands are fertile, covered in fields that stretch for hundreds of miles. The low reaches of the mountains in the south provide fine grazing for sheep and goats. There are two large city ports on the south coast that provide much trade with lands to the south. They mostly export cloth, timber and foodstuffs and import exotic and luxury items from far off lands. The farther north you travel, the more rugged the land becomes, slowly turning from flat plains to rolling hills, to a jagged rocky landscape of rock towers, caves, canyons and wild vegetation. The temperature slowly climbs as well. Increasing from a soft, temperate clime, to a hot, dry savannah. As you intrude further into this landscape it is here that you will find the mines and quarries that power the industry of Ethelere. The trade mechanics of Ethelere are simple. Food flows north, materials flow south. Eventually, you come up against a desolate plain of scrawny shrub and tangled trees that stretches 50 miles to the lower reaches of the Mountains of Valard which mark the northern border of Ethelere.
