Monster

Monsters take form when the primal mana of the planet Etheria attaches itself to physical matter in a way very similar to the first Terrans. However while the Terrans were formed all at once from the very concentrated mana trapped on the surface of the planet as it was forming, monsters are continuously formed from the small amounts of diluted mana that filter through the ground from the core of the planet. This dilution has caused great variation between monster races and generally results in monsters having low natural intelligence. In exchange for this however monsters have extremely durable bodies due to the materials picked up as the mana traveled to the surface. Because They come from the same source it is possible for monsters to become more humanlike as they absorb more magic, becoming more intelligent and powerful with age. The strongest monsters even have the ability to morph their form into that of a humanoid to more effectively apply their power.
