Feline

Felines are counted into the beast folks. They were initially cat shapeshifters but fused - due to genetic mutation - with their second form into one individual, causing the beast form to disappear, but its features stayed visible. The mutation lasted and created a new species - the feline - in which the offsprings inherit the cat-like features and characteristics without reverting back to their past shapeshifter form.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Felines resemble large-sized upright walking cats. Their body is completely covered in short to mid-length fur. The fur often features gray, brown, beige, and black tones, in rare cases also white colorations. Their feet and hands resemble those of humans but are sharp-clawed paws. They have a long tail that also enhances their balance.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Felines have a sweet tooth resulting in a diet consisting of various sweet dishes. Besides the sweet dishes, they primarily eat meat, either raw, cooked, or dried. They can also eat cured meat but need to keep it to rare occasions as they have difficulties digesting large amounts of salt.

Behaviour

Feline are loyal beings, always ready to fight for the well-being of their loved ones and comrades. They are known as great merchants, gifted navigators, and warriors. Due to their ability to move silently, they also would be suited as thieves, assassins, or spies, but their moral views and rules prohibit them from occupying such a profession.   They tend to purr unconsciously while being around their loved ones or feeling really comfortable.

Additional Information

Facial characteristics

The face resembles the one of a cat with a cat's nose in brown, black, or reddish tones, oval eyes in colors ranging from yellow to orange and green to blue with slit-like pupils and whiskers on both sides of the nose and above the eyes towards the nose. The eyes are light-sensitive but allow for excellent night vision, given there is still a little light left and it isn't pitch black.   They have sharp teeth suitable for eating various types of meat in the front and dull, flat teeth ideal for chewing plant-based foods in the back.   The ears are located on the top of the head, allowing for nearly all-around listening.
