Soul Elixir

The Soul Elixir is a powerful potion that can only be brewed in the Cursed Cauldron. It is condensed Soul Energy pulled directly from a Soul Energy vein and bottled for later use with mighty spells. It is the more adventurous, sometimes explosive, but always deadly counterpart to Soul Gems.
Soul Elixir is so highly unnatural, not only the creation is dangerous. Whoever uses the Elixir swiftly becomes addicted to the substance. Soon after, the voices start to whisper, pushing ever on to consume more and more. Sometimes it only takes months, sometimes a few years, but in the end the Soul Energy always claims back what is its own. The user’s mental and physical condition will deteriorate quite significantly over the rest of their short life.
The Cursed Cauldron has been lost for centuries, so nobody was able to create Soul Elixir for quite some time. Maybe this is for the best.
