Tinted Marsh
Geography
It is a marsh with multiple water pools and soft, muddy soil. Within the summer months, it turns into a colorful paradise that glooms in various red, lilac, and green tones. In contrast, the paradisiac appearance can hide the location's dangerous areas.
Localized Phenomena
The peculiarity of this place is the reddish tint of the water. That reddish tint ranges from a blush pinkish color to a rich red that almost reminds of blood, depending on the current season. Until today there isn't a known cause for the red-colored water.
Fauna & Flora
The soil around the wet area is fertile and attracts numerous plant species adapted to constantly damp soil.
Near the water in the direct shore area, a plant named cottongrass can commonly be found. Apart from the cottongrass, several other types of grass and moss as well as some robust small flowers can be found in this area.
Natural Resources
The marsh contains peat that can be harvested, dried, and used as fuel afterward. The peat can, to some extent, be challenging to harvest as there are only a few places where one can stand without sinking into the marsh.
Types of thick, durable grass can be harvested and dried within tied-together bundles. After thoroughly drying but still a bit bendable, they can be used to craft baskets or as roofing for huts, for example.
The most common plant in this area is the cottongrass, whose flowers can be harvested and be used to fill bedding or craft yarn, or plant wool. Those crafted yarn and wool can, in turn, be used to manufacture cloth, which is then used to produce clothes, bedding, and other household items. Due to the reddish-colored water, the flowers are also tinted reddish, which leads to cloth pieces in the corresponding color.
