Werewolf
Werewolves initially occurred due to a genetic mutation of a wolfshifter, which caused it to shift uncontrollably into a distorted, upright walking wolf shape instead of the normally expected wolf shape. The shifts primarily occur during moments of rage and anger and during the full moon phases of Luan. During the full moon shifts, they howl to the moon all night long.
Transmission & Vectors
The condition can be transferred in two ways.
- Genetic: The condition is inherited by offspring with a chance of 80%.
- Acquired: The condition can be transmitted through a bite into the main artery. The disease will break out if the victim survives the blood loss and isn't treated within 24 hours of the incident.
Treatment
If one was bitten the disease outbreak can be averted until 24 hours after with a high quality, concentrated wolfsbane tincture. Once the disease breaks out, it can't be cured anymore. The shifts during particular emotional states can be suppressed with mental training and small amounts of wolfsbane.
