Pixies / Fairies
In this fantasy world fairies usually live in small colonies concealing them from anyone who might disturb their peaceful lives. Spring and summer fairies were most common of all, and oftentimes their colonies consisted of both types. They both like to live in warm or temperate climates. The spring and summer fairies had intermingled so much that there wasn’t much difference between them except for the months they were born in. These fairies have varying insect wings that determine what kind of job they are better suited for. For example, fairies with dragonfly wings are likely to be messengers between colonies because of their speed. Fairies with bee wings might pollinate flowers just as a regular bee would, and wasp-winged fairies might choose to be fighters to defend their colonies. Those with cicada wings are the loudest of all, and they typically serve as lookouts and are in charge of announcements. Moth-winged fairies are usually nocturnal and take on night shifts for the fairies who were active in the daytime. Not every fairy has a designated job, and many chose to simply live comfortably in their whimsical safe havens.
Autumn fairies have wings that resemble leaves instead of insect wings. And while summer and spring fairies have affinity to insects, autumn fairies have an affinity to (small) woodland creatures. While they don’t often interact with one another, summer, spring and autumn fairies were generallyfriendly to one another when they had more frequent encounters during the passing of seasons.
Winter fairies are the most mysterious and elusive of all. Few have laid eyes upon one. Their wings appear to be made of ice or glass. Nobody knows if they truly speak; some say they’re so quiet that their voices can be mistaken for the sounds of snowfall. Many have been deterred for seeking out their magic because of rumors that say if you anger a winter fairy colony, your village will be cursed with a winter that lasts a hundred years. Of course, nobody knows if there’s any truth to these claims, but it’s assumed that the magic that allows them to exist in such harsh climates isn’t something to be trifled with.
Fairies don’t reproduce like the other races. When a fairy comes to the end of its life, or if they chose so earlier, it can transform itself into a seed. Two fairies can choose to do so together, they’ll fuse into one seed and have more offspring. The making of seeds however, is very a painful process. From this seed a composite flower grows, which means it’s a flower consisting of many tiny flowers. When two fairies choose to fuse into one seed; the seed will grow into a sunflower. When one fairy becomes a seed, it grows into a dandelion.
