Actinic lamps emit light in the 200 to 280 nanometer range, known as the UVC range, which has germicidal properties and is often used for disinfection purposes. UVC light can kill or inactivate mold spores, bacteria, and other microorganisms by damaging their DNA or cellular structure.
Actinic lamps are commonly used in air and water purification systems to eliminate pathogens, and it is common for ValuSelu Pact vessels to have them in high-humidity areas of the ship to prevent mold growth.
