Ahab Spear Rifle

The Ahab Rifle is high-bore spear-launching rifle that came about from a human engineer living in Jhoutai. The rifle holds one spear in the chamber. The spear is launched via a propellant case top-loaded into the breech of the rifle. Small Magnetic accelators lined above and below the barrel impart spin and increase velocity.

It's an expensive and complicated rifle, but proves itself more than capable of sending a very heavy piece of metal a very long way very fast.

Construction

The Ahab Spear Rifle is a complicated mix of different technologies. Modern ballistics, magnetic manipulation, and light-weight but sturdy projectiles.

Many engineers covet the Ahab Spear Rifle as a weapon of finesse, and an engineer worth their salt have built their own to fire farther and faster than the ones you get off the shelf.

Operation

After each shot, you must use two partials to grab a harpoon and insert a charge.

Operation

Spears can be picked up after use, unless they are broken in flight.

Proficiency

Loading only costs a single parial.

Upgrades

Spidersilk Recall Module

Play a Royal after firing. The Spear returns to the gun. If the play plays an additional partial then the weapon is reloaded. If stuck, it can hold the weight of one large creature.

Dragon's Breath Module

A Chemical applicator is attached to the furniture just above the spear tube. It applies a flammamable coating as the spear is launched. It ignites on contact with air and burns for 5 turns.

Ballistic Projection Sight

Attaches to the top of the rifle and interfaces with eyecomms. Use a Royal to decrease the Range Mod to 1/Space
