Australia suffered the same fate of rampant global warming as any other country. The sea encroached upon the shores and pushed folks inland, and a lot of the infrastructure crumbled into anarchistic communes, cults,and dysfunctional agencies attempting to restore the state.

In the modern era, Australia is flourishing. Rescued from the brink by the Church, Australia's invasive alien life has been hunted and its old ecosystem slowly restored. Those specks of civilization where humanity dug is feet in are now pod cities, gardens from which humanity flourishes
