The Jupiter Syndicate, there have been situations in which a hostile takeover of a company actually turned into armed conflict. These 'Hostile Takeovers' are legal in some instances and can be as small as a four-man development team or an entire company organization tens of thousands strong.
Legal Proceedings
A Hostile Takeover can occur in the following circumstances
1. When a company is purchased, merged, or defunct and lingering employees remain behind in protest exceeding more than thirty days
a. The thirty day period is nullified if protesting employees promote violence or other destructive felonies on company property
2. When companies break rules which would place them as traitors of the Banner and fall under two of the three below conditions.
a. The time required for peaceful negotiations would exceed in damages ranging above ten percent of offended company value
b. The offending company has been promoting violence
c. The offending company has had more than two instances of traitorous behavior (Incident reports can be filed to the Directoriate in form 231029-A)
3. A Hostile Takeover can occur at any time under the orders of the Directoriate (See Directoriate Executive Order 276182-C)
In the event of a failed Takeover, the offending company is granted the ability to negotiate for its peaceful terms with compensation for losses.
Addendum 1) After the NucleCo incident; nuclear, chemical, biological, and other planet-destabilizing weapons are not tolerated during a Hostile Takeover.
Addendum 2) Deceased opponents are to be released to their next of kin after a Hostile Takeover, they are not allowed to be acquisitioned through contract or otherwise.
