Power Plants

Nalati looked upwards to marvel at the dense leaves forming an umbrella around the thick, copper-tinted trunk of the tree. A small grove of them jutted up through the coral. The Coral seemed to avoid them by centimeters, affording them a tube to grow up through.

The Power Plants are a species synthetically created with early Andromeda Syndicate Orga technology. The photovoltaic leaves transfered its power underground to its work network, which could grow to encompass acres of land and power entire settlements.

The plants require protection to work with, as while the roots are covered with a rubberized bark, the leaves are live. Maintenace involves applying water around the roots to assist in cooling and trimming damaged leaves with secatuers.

In the Reclamation Era Power Plants have become more compact, from the first trees, down to smaller vines and bushes and the most modern algae form-factor.

New Fuel for the Stars

With this new partnership of Orga and Mecha engineering, we have devised a new power source that will keep all of our colonies running autonomously! Not only that, but with the new consumer model set to launch at the end of the year, any home can improve their energy output with a little bit of garden work!

With the onset of the Expansion Era, colonies soon ran into problems of setting down proper infrastructure. In the time that it took hubworlds to fly equipment to colonies, the colonists could already be dead. Dead colonists meant dead worlds, and lost money. The Syndicate set its eyes on the technology of the ValuSelu Pact.

The outcome was some of the first Orga technologies to be produced in masse by humanity. The Power Plants were one such technology, helping alleviate the tax on colonists to power their own colonies. A pack of seeds and a starter kit were all that was needed to power an entire colony within a month.
