Deep below the stone hold of K'khelaKhen, an ancient tomb and chamber remains buried and protected by the Sisters of Regret. Beneath the city, lay the original purpose of K'khelaKhen, long forgotten by the people who live above. Were it to become public, we might be dealing with an uncontrollable riot.
The Surrender to Murder was an ancient Malisyk ceremony which took place in an ancient sacrifical chamber deep below the ground in the stronghold of K'khelaKhen. There are no known survivors or historians who knew exactly what occured during the Ceremony. From what texts have been salvaged, it appears that the most egregious of assassians would venture down here and through whatever means, never return.
No body, no bones, no internment; those who surrendered are gone without a trace.
The Chamber
The bleak obsidian walls of the buried chamber are forboding enough, but there are immense auric forces at play in the chamber, and only through protective enchantments or by becoming Hollow can the chamber be safely explored.
A table ornately carved with visions of death and domination serves as the central feature of the room, no doubt where the Surrender would occur. As to what occured on this table, only the most knowledgable of Malisyk historians could find a clue. Based on the name, the worthy were brought down to give themselves to their god, Murder.
Insight into the Workings of Demons
The reason the Surrender to Murder remains such a mystery worth uncovering is that the ceremony may shed light into how Sophontic life plays into the growth and development of Affinity and The 'Demons'. However this research requires keeping the dark nature of the ceremonial site intact.
We all hear rumors of the lower levels of the city occasionally getting hit by waves of hostile emotions, sure, but no way they would leave such a dangerous and disgusting place active in the middle of our home.
Sure, no one would ever possibly keep such a thing active in the middle of a city. You believe that, random citizen. Scary. I wonder if someone will discover the truth one day.

I am sure someone will, but the question is what will happen then? Ignorance is bliss after all, especially in the name of a functional society.
