The story of a Waimana Keeper using it's strength and ferocity to conquer the greedy monster below.
This short tale is told by village elders to the children, as a way to motivate them to never surrender on escaping Waimana Valley, and there there is so much more to explore beyond the stars.
There once was little Keeper, fierce and strong just as we are.
This little Keeper strived to one day reach the reach the stars above them, to see what lay beyond our valley in the infinite sea.
A greedy monster who sits below us heard of this Keepers desire to adventure. The monster, infuriated that the beautiful creature wanted to leave, used his power to cast the clouds into the sky.
Seeing the disappointment of the Keeper, the Monster laughed and laughed. The Monster thinks it has won.
Laughing so hard was he, that the Keeper overheard. The Keeper pulled up the strength inside of it, resolved to reach the stars even faster.
And so the Keeper set to work, day and night, raining and misty. Using the strength of their fists, it punched a stairway to the Stars from the ruin of the Arch that watches over us.
Now that Keeper watches over us, working on its own way to make us our own staircase to escape the greedy cackling Monster.
I love it.
Necromancy is a Wholesome Science.
Ahangi would recall it being told to her quite a few times!
I wonder if there is a song version. *Whistles innocently.*
