Habren

In the Open City of the Bards, northwest of Kamdohr, you will find most of the legendary tattoo artists living here and all utilizing a specific tool for their artistry. This tool, called Habren, was invented by a small group of artisans who were looking for a more effective way to imbued magical ink into the skin/flesh of a creature. Together this underassuming creation is an enticing tool and is coveted by many. The group decided that their knowledge of this writing tool was only allowed to be passed to someone within the Open City of the Bards.

Habren Description

When sitting on the table it doesn't look like much there is a large squishy oblong that sits on top of a copper colored tube with a small chunk taken out of one side. The portion that sits on the skin resembles a tiny quill tip of pure white.   When in the process of tattooing the oblong lights up with the design of the tattoo. At first it is a light grey and then becomes darker as the tattoo is progressing. The pure white tip turns blinding white and as the tattoo is laid upon the skin or flesh a bright light illuminates the area. Once the final design in completed the light turns from blinding white to faint glow of with the intended color.

Secret or Punishment

It is a trade secret only allowed to be passed down to a Bard within the Open City of the Bards. The punishment of sharing outside the guidelines, is not death as that would be too easy, but feared much more. The punishment extends beyond the Bard and into their family and friends, the Guild of the Bards determines who is closest to the accused Bard and punishment laids upon those.

I love how you set up your Summer Camp by the way. But I really love your writing implement prompt. I haven't had as much time to look at others' work since I've been working on mine. I will tell you a secret; I loved my writing implement story but I love yours more!

You wrote, "y'all" I can't wait to read more of your writing as well as other peoples'. My only regret is that I haven't slept in about 3 days so have been unable to edit the prompts I wrote so quickly in excitement. There is 24 hour a day construction 25 feet from my bed that is ear-splittingly loud. They are trying to complete some reconstruction actually of the school across the street. My sleep debt is stacked so high, this reply may not even make sense.
