The Aesoteans are one of the three human ethnic groups that make up the population of the island of Achia, which became a unified country only a few decades ago. The label 'Achian' has not been universally accepted by all yet, with outsiders much more likely to use it.
The Aesoteans live in villages and towns in the thick boreal forests of southern Achia. Officially, they follow the Faith, the religion that has spread across much of the north, but many still also worship what they call the Old Gods.
