People of Lura

The Lurans are the most populous inhabitants of the country of Lura in western Aenica. Lurans have the epicanthic folds usually associated with the continent of Viretia, suggesting that they might have migrated from there in the long distant past. They also have the flat noses common across western Aenica.
Luran society runs on a strict caste system. Upward social mobility is almost impossible, and it is rare for anyone to rise above the class of their birth. However, downward social mobility is much easier, with a single mistake being enough to make you tumble down several rungs.
Much of the upper class of Lura identify the Faith as their religion, brought over centuries ago by explorers from Erias. There is, however, a great many people, particularly in the lower classes, that worship more ancient gods. Often, people will worship an amalgamation of the two, following the edicts of the Faith whilst also maintaining small shrines or partaking in little rituals associated with the other religion.
Are there any consequences for those who follow the ancient gods from the adherents of the Faith?
Some don't like it, but most are quite easygoing about it. Tends to be higher up, foreign priests who have problems with people not worshipping the "right" gods.
