Brentiny
Where the old ones live
The land and people of Brentiny means that it has a history that is equally intangled and seperate from the rest of Avignon, known as being the last homeland of the ancient people of Western Evantian. The people, after losing so much are determined to hold their small pocket of the world now, and while under the influence of the monarch of Avignon are still fiercely independent, and their lands are worth holding. Traders would do well to work with the wealth of minerals in Brentiny, and with it's location on the coast this is an easy place to trade if possible. Most travellers can ignore the area however, it's not a vital travel link if not going by coast and is a rather unremarkable landscape, but some breathtaking sites can still be found.Henry Norwick, Travellers Guide to Evantian, Press of Wien, Wien, 1705.
Geography
The southern and central areas of Brentiny are grey, weather worn hills, wedge between the Canaric and Basques on the edge of Evantian, while a more flat, less thin area makes the northern parts. Small streams and lakes provide water but to much less levels than the other regions of Avignon, making the whole region less developed and more untouched.
Fauna & Flora
While the northern areas of Brentiny are similar in both plant and animal life to the Royal Lands, the more renowned hill areas of this region are much less lush than the valley, with water to allow growth limited and the climate slightly harsher. Animal life is however in large amounts in all of this region, with many creatures known to only inhabit Brentiny and it's neighbouring hills and mountains in Avignon and Telfalas.
Natural Resources
Once again, the land in the north of Brentiny are very similar to the Royal lands, with decent grazing and farmland. However the main riches of these lands are the large amounts of minerals, mainly iron and coal within the stone. This makes the region a major exporter and makes up for a lack of other resources in the region.
