Heralds of Ra'an

Forsaken and Lost

Deep in the voids of the Plane of Earth, a religious sect of warriors defend the weak from the beasts that hide in the desolate planescape. They pledge fealty to a great celestial named Ra'an. The Heralds became a powerful weapon against the darkness, until, one by one, they started to fall under the weight of their actions and the corpses of their foes.
Despised now by Ra'an, the celestial banished the Heralds from their sanctum in the City of Howls, forsaking them to forever wander for purpose until one day they may realise the consequences of their actions. Many have perished to starvation, sacrifice, or suicide.
Now, only few remain, seeking a purpose to keep going.

Structure

The sect operates as a militant arm of the Temple of Ra'an, which is controlled by Ra'an itself. Underneath Ra'an, only the Heralds exist as the voices, and will, of the being.

Public Agenda

To defend the innocent, the weak, the downtrodden. To destroy evil, greed, and the ungodly.

Assets

What remains within the Sanctum of Ra'an is retracted from the Heralds, but it only held a small amount of wealth, arms and armour, potions, tomes of religious knowledge, and the Divine Word of Ra'an.

History

The Heralds have been a mainstay in the Plane of Air's history, being formed when the plane fell to ruin under the control of the Prince and his ancestor, Amihan the Elder Tempest. Its purpose was solely to slow or stop the road of destruction the two had begun. Alas, it has since failed, the Heralds cast to the void and the reign of the tyrants unerring.

Disbandment

Heralds fell from their high graces and took to more violent and unsightly methods of controlling the evils of the world, some even falling to corruption. Ra'an saw this as heresy and cast out the Heralds to the oblivion beyond the City of Howls, never to return.
