Higher Vampire
Basic Information
Anatomy
Whilst on the surface, a Higher Vampire appears like any ordinary humanoid, but their individual abilities differentiate themselves apart from the common folk.
Genetics and Reproduction
Higher Vampires infect others with Sanguinare Vampiris, or Vampire Disease, through an exchange of blood, in which the "victim" must consume it.
Growth Rate & Stages
Higher Vampires are the product of evolution from their Spawn stage, until becoming a full Vampire. The older the Vampires get, the more individual they become, and become the Higher Vampires people rarely see.
Ecology and Habitats
Each of the Higher Vampires has their own tastes in their lairs, from fine furnishings to lavish clothes, and most have a carafe of wine at hand in most abodes.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Higher Vampires need not consume blood to survive, some can survive on normal food, but many of them enjoy the taste of haem on their lips more than anything.
Biological Cycle
Higher Vampires must go into a deep hibernation if they are "destroyed" by a mortal, in order to regenerate.

History
Unlike most vampires, true Higher Vampires are incredibly rare, and are often mistaken for their lesser breeds. True Higher Vampires can look exactly like a human being and can even evade detection from the most skilled hunter, only revealing themselves at their own convenience. Higher Vampires are also incredibly intelligent, and possess numerous - and often individual - abilities. Unlike their lesser counterparts, Higher Vampires do not need to drink blood to survive; however, the consumption of blood offers an experience not unlike the consumption of alcohol.
Because of the rarity of a Higher Vampire, as well as the unique abilities they often possess, classification can be extremely difficult. Fortunately, encountering one is an incredibly rare occurrence, and not all higher vampires are dangerous to humans; many avoid human contact, and some even work altruistically to aid humanity. Not all are so beneficent, however, while they can be defeated temporarily they can reform from literally any damage given sufficient time to regenerate. The only way to permanently destroy a Higher Vampire is by the hand of another Higher Vampire.
