Her illustrious majesty, Kaylin Galador, second of her name, iron ruler of the lands of Elysia, Mordun, and the Fosall Archipelago. Lord commander of the royal army and tamer of the Khiven Tribes of Danok. Long may she reign, long may she live - just some of the words to describe the inscrutable presence that Kaylin bears when she is mentioned. Mastering the politics of high society from a young age, her rise to the throne of Elysia was insenced by those loyal to the old guard - her radical changes fired past her so-called "advisors" like a ballista bolt through a cardboard wall. With her newfound allies and reputation established through guiding her kingdom into its golden age, those who have doubted her have been crushed under heel, bowing to the majesty she upholds.
Her unbending authority and presence of mind makes her one of Emperor Novaris' greatest foes in the Realm War.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Strongly built, Kaylin has ensured she is in fighting condition at any given time, to allow her to wield any weapon at her disposal or to subdue a would-be attacker. Relatively heavy for an Elf, she maintains her muscularity through a diet of high proteins and root vegetables.

Body Features

Kaylin is very tall for her somewhat young age, being over 6ft tall. Her frame is quite narrow from first glance, but she is well-built and only disguised by her attires.

Facial Features

An elegantly structured face overset by a stern expression, with no apparent imperfections visible. A scar across the back of her neck is hidden by either her long hair or tall collars.

Identifying Characteristics

Outwith her usual attires, Kaylin is most identifiable by her intense eyebrow position. Known in her court as the "resting death glare".

Physical quirks

If she is being insinuating, she will often wiggle her eyebrows suggestively, more apparently when she makes an innuendo.

Often dressed in the finest attires, she can often be spotted adorned in her golden neck chain and crown. Her hands are decorated with stunning rings, with expensive gemstones often embedded. In battle, she can be seen in full plate that is decorated with intricate patterns.

Personal history

Born on the first day of the new year, 1633, Kaylin was foretold to be one of the guiding lights in a dark era to come. Soon after her birth, Emperor Novaris invaded the Fosall Archipelago, lighting the fires of war that would become The Realm War. Raised by tutors, nannies, and her parents, she experienced a whole swath of insights into her future life as queen of Elysia, Mordun, and the Fosall Archipelago - a task so great that most crumble to the integrity needed to maintain this small empire. However, despite her mental acuity and study, she was befallen of a horse riding accident that caused her to permanently lose her hearing, causing her to learn Kagarran Sign Language. As she mastered this new somatic language, her interpreter - Taeran of Leathe - became her best friend and most trusted ally, and voice in a very crowded court. Her mischevious younger nature cemented a habit of speaking to those she wished to hold conversation with, and deferring to KSL for those she did not. Despite her capable verbal abilities, she found the loss of hearing a bane and blessing in of the same - no longer did she have to listen to the snooty remarks of the court but she would never hear the voice of her parents again.
Only a few years more would pass by, on the eve of the Novarian landing in Marlow, her father - Nezram - would pass away from complications from a magical disease known as Regent's Fire, leaving Kaylin and her mother, Atrena, to defend their lands with only a handful of loyalists. Atrena, acting as Kaylin's regent, ensured her daughter's safety at all times and insisted that despite her daughter's fair frame that she learn martial combat. So, a master swordsman by the name of Gareth Winter was entrusted with teaching the future queen in the art of swordplay and horsemanship. By the time she was 14, she had become adept at most forms of rudimentary combat, as well as a reliable talent for tactical warfare, deferring all unknowns to her mentor who would provide necessary guidance towards historical texts and tales, relating them back to current exercises.
Upon the day of her 16th birthday, she was crowned queen of Elysia and its subsequent domains, and rapidly brought about changes to the realm's economy, trade, and military capabilities. With several pushbacks from her advisory council, she proceeded to undermine their interests and opinions by committing the legislation to sealed documents. The infuriation that spread amongst the court caused several assassination attempts to be made on her life, each of which failed, with only one coming close. This close call shattered relations within the royal circle, as Taeren of Leathe was found to have been in possession of the suspected murder weapon, poisons, and necessary documents that detailed the plans - plans in which were connected to an unknown benefactor. The hardest decision of Kaylin's reign to that point had finally come - to execute a beloved friend she had laughed and shared life experiences with. The day that Taeren of Leathe was hanged for his crimes, she was front and centre, tearful behind a dark veil, but holding her composure for the people of the city of Galador.
Since that day, she has entrusted another interpreter, an old friend called Yara of Beaufaire, and has become tough-skinned, becoming evenmore steadfast in her convictions than before. After the 4th Elysian Civil War broke out, she commanded the frontier to subdue the Khiven Tribe's advances on key towns and villages with utmost efficiency, with demand that the war end by the year's end, and it did. The resulting accounts of horrific war crimes came to light, from the shamans of the Khiven people, where Kaylin executed swift justice upon the accused in the act to broker peace with the native tribe.
The years have been ruthless since - the Novarian threat getting closer than ever - and Her Illustrious Majesty must now declare war to save the fate of her people.

• Demonstrated her tactical mind during the 4th Elysian Civil War, besting her peers and disproving doubters to her capabilities as a military leader.
• Funded infrastructure growth within the realm, providing many with fresh water directly to the home, as well as underground sewer lines to protect populations from diseases.

Failures & Embarrassments

• Failed to contain the Great Plague of Galador, which remains an ongoing threat during current day events. The city has now entered total lockdown.
• Failed to convict corrupt officials within her court for treasonous activity and embezzlement due to lack of solid evidence, despite activities being apparent.

Mental Trauma

• Apparent betrayal of her best friend, Taeren of Leathe, and watching him be executed for his actions.

Intellectual Characteristics

Kaylin is mentally sharp, witty, and never without humour. However, she is known mostly for her unbending will and decision-making, with many praising her for her forthright honesty and blatant disregard for the status-quo.
