The Meridian Valley
It's nothing... Just mutant bunnies...
Once the site of a battle between a mad mage and the armies of Arnskronian Elves, the Meridian Valley has suffered from an immense magical surge which has affected its landscapes and inhabitants. Until recently, a relic of the past had been phasing in and out of existence, disturbing some and intriguing others. The Greyhands Adventuring Guild destroyed this mysterious phenomenon and restored the Valley to a somewhat normal place.
Except the monsters, that is.
Geography
Tall mountains give way to a shallow wooded area below, at the base. A road has been carved from the ancient stone, and remnants of settlements lay in their final state for all to see. A large forest divides the monster-run village of Donblas from Kaeldor's Pass, which continues onwards to Midfort and the city of Pash Vaelenor.
Most mountain hikers attempt to climb the steep hills but many have perished due to the stones' unnatural frailty crumbling away from the pitons jammed into the exterior.
The terrain used to occasionally alter due to residual magic from the battles that commenced during the Covergence, but that has since stopped a year prior. People have many theories but only some know that it was due to the Greyhands Adventurers Guild.
Fauna & Flora
Many parts of flora in the Meridian Valley have been affected by the Convergence, with some shrubbery appearing to move on their own or be ablaze but never burns away. The fauna within consists of "civilised" monsters, in the village of Donblas, run by a strong-headed Fire Giant named Dak. Wild creatures take on some elemental aspects, with deer appearing to be made of flowing winds or rabbits created from stone.
Natural Resources
The Meridian Valley has many mineral deposits that have been untouched by people, troves of woodland waiting to be felled, and some small reservoirs of water that can be accessed via well.
