Deific Eclipse
Evara has a history of conflict among the gods, and the larger-than-life, petrified remains of dead gods linger outside Evara's atmosphere. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby obscuring Earth's view of the Sun, totally or partially. In Evara, and occasionally you get a solar eclipse, but instead of the moon, the remains of a dead god obscure the sun. This phenomenon is called a deific eclipse.
Manifestation
A total deific eclipse occurs when the silhouette of a dead god completely obscures the intensely bright light of the Sun, allowing the much fainter solar corona to be visible. During any one eclipse, totality occurs at best only in a narrow track on the surface of Earth. The density of a god's stony corpse varies, and it creates strange patterns and visions as it filters the sun.
A partial deific eclipse occurs when the Sun and corpse are not exactly in line with Evara. In such cases, a hand, bent leg, or head might partially obscure the sun. This effect can be observed far and wide but is often undetectable. The sun is so bright that over 90% coverage is necessary to notice any darkening at all.
Localization
Diefic eclipses can be seen from all over the world, but unlike other types of eclipses, they do not occur at predictable intervals. A diefic eclipse is usually seen as a bad omen.
