Tiefling

Basic Information

Anatomy

Tieflings have a mostly human build, however, they also have a long, fleshy tail, often with a small bony protrusion in the form of a spike or barb, and horns.

Genetics and Reproduction

While many claim that tieflings are the children of demons and humans, they are actually their own full species. They reproduce sexually, like humans.

Growth Rate & Stages

Tieflings grow and age around the same rate as humans, however, tend to live slightly longer.

Ecology and Habitats

Early tieflings lived mostly in the Achdõbri (ʔaxˈdɔ̃bʁi) Volcano near the Schilf Desert, however, before the dragonborn came to the region, many ventured out, and eventually came to many of the dark corners of the world.

History

When the world was first invaded by the demons after the god put the eldar on its surface, proto-tieflings were born from the resulting conflict. The power of the demons was enough to corrupt some of the eldar and turn them into twisted versions of themselves. eventually, these proto-tieflings became their own mortal race, the tieflings.

Tiefling

To be greeted with stares and whispers, to suffer violence and insult on the street, to see mistrust and fear in every eye: this is the lot of the tiefling. And to twist the knife, tieflings know that this is because a pact struck generations ago infused the essence of Aäd̠roiʻ̞a, overlord of the Nine Hells (and many of the other powerful devils serving under him) into their bloodline. Their appearance and their nature are not their fault but the result of an ancient sin, for which they and their children and their children's children will always be held accountable.
