Volkrath
Voice of the Beast, Protector Of The Hunt
“Spare my beasts,” said Volkrath. “Protect them and leave none to waste and my flock shall live with you.”
Volkrath speaks for those who cannot: the beasts and the birds. He demands obedience and sacrifice. In return choses those among his herd who may be slain. He is the most vengeful of the Spirits. He takes prayer and offerings through flesh and blood, but blesses in tokens of feather and bone. When he lays with Zuzária he gifts her with glittering fish and shining dragonflies.
Disrespecting the slain beast is the greatest sin against Volkrath, even worse than slaying or harming against his word. Shamen guide hunters and farmers in how many and which animals Volkrath will allow to be slain. In the Old Ways a hunter would sacrifice a cup of his blood the night before a hunt. If the prey draws blood from the hunter then Volkrath it is Volkrath's Vengeance.
