Eventhial

Eventhial is a world of fantasy. It has magic, monsters, and most importantly, civilization made up of several species. The world is in a steampunk-medieval stage at the moment, using old fashioned techniques with technology similar to modern day (for example, horse carriages designed out of light metals).   The gods of the world are numerous. Gods are capable of interacting with the mortals, but it is not a common act and is considered a blessing when it does happen. The most well-known and worshipped gods are Earth, Water, and Air. As such, they are the strongest gods. The other major gods are the 6 Characteristics, the Alignments, the rest of the Elements, and the Magics. Demigods are any mortals who are appointed with abilities by a god and announced a demigod (there can be one or multiple "sponsor" gods) -Cults do exist, but because gods can manifest in the mortal realm, they are very uncommon. The gods will either do an act to prove their existence or eliminate the cult if they go too far.   The world population is around a half of a million people. Despite the incredible ideas and strength that adventurers can wield to defend the world, death is very common, which makes the population number slow to increase. The area they live in is one super continent, about 1200 miles horizontally and 850 miles vertically. There are multiple established countries, many of which partake in a constant, ongoing war (although it's dormant most of the time).   Adventurers are the most important part to the protection of the people. They take on tasks that normal peasants, farmers, or nobles can't do themselves, including dangerous ones. However, adventurers also die rapidly. The match-ups are not always just to them. Resurrection magic exists and is considered ethical, but it's very expensive to go through with.
