Battle for Guandon Deep

The Battle for Guandon Deep happened  in 3146 PS, and it involved the crown of Maulbia and the Imperial forces of Astumia. The, then, emperor of Astumia wanted to expand the reaches and found that Guandon Deep be a worthy excursion, due to it immense mining power and further potentials of the area.   However, the King of Maulbia, received word that such a invasion would be imminent, rallying his forces, he met them on the border. An intense battle waged within the forest that leeches across both borders, many lives were lost on both sides of the battle.   It was here that the previous king met his demise when he tried to engage in battle with a group of Goliath soldiers that the Emperor had sent his way. Seeing the plight of his father, the crown prince lept up to aid him and he too fell beneath the might of the Goliaths. Little did the emperor know, nor expect, the crown princess was also in attendance at the battle and rallied a group of her own soldiers and stormed the Emperor's blockade, fighting to within and inch of her life, Sabirah Madani was able to cut down the Emperor in the spirit of vengeance.   With both key leaders dead, Sabirah Madani realised very quickly that this now now meant that she held the mantle of queen and caused a brief retreat. She pulled all her troops together. What she found however, is that majority of the army amassed were grief-ridden, wanting to retreat to their homes or had given up. It was a very dark day for those on the battlefield. However, despite grieving for her own father and brother, she lept to the forefront and laid it out on the line for her soldiers as to what may await them. She also spurred them on by reminding them what was to be lost and what could be taken by the Astumian's. She also made it very clear that she too was grieving the loss of her family but was ready to jump back in to ensure that now other's would fall to the same fate that she had at the hands of the Astumian's.   After a long speech, the soldiers began to turn to the princess-now-queen's banner and rose up to push the Astumian's back to their own side of the border. Despite losing her family, the new queen found her place under the mantle, found the respect of her soldiers, found the bravery of local civilians who jumped in to help. Most of all she found hope in the shared grief of her subjects, and vowed to ensure their safety at all costs.   From the battle and before she buried her father and brother, Sabirah Madani abolished all forms of slavery and introduced the Bondsman Convention, which allowed people to enter into servitude but be protected by their own rights and for employers to be protected too. Without the drive and strength of the new queen, Maulbia would have suffered an astronomical hit to it's economy, one that would have put the country on it's knees.
