Europan (Yoo-ROH-pahn)

Citizens of Europa are among the richest in the solar system. Due to the abundance of water in Europa, it barely needed to be terraformed, and the main export from Europa is ice. Most Europans look down their noses on the rest of the solar system, especially their neighbors, the Ioans, whose labor they need to harvest the sulfur needed to purify Europan water. The gradual shift of Io gradually losing it's independent colony status to transitioning to becoming a penial colony is a direct result of Europan interference. There is a government mandate for all children born on Europa to be genetically engineered. Most are anyway, but the requirement is seen as a direct affront to it's poorer citizens from other colonies, and a form of unethical popular control.
