Wether it is at the village level or the empiricle level, you will have oportunity to influcence the process' of the land.   For each given period of downtime you will have to choose one of the following things your character will do (you can do multiple if the time allows):   At the end of the period of downtime, there will be a vote or decision to make
  1. Gaining Political Followers
  2. Trying to push a plot/policy
  3. Sabotaging a plot/policy
  4. Building a Building
  5. Carousing
  6. Running a Business
  7. Working on a Skill

Gaining Political Followers

Each player may have influence over voters based on previous interactions and dedicating downtime to going around gaining followers.   To do this, players must say what they want to do, ie. throw an event, host dinners, help different groups...ect and based on what they want they will roll to gain fellowship.   They can gain only a maximum of 5 votes per week period. There may be events that occur that remove votes from them. Every week, each vote holder MAY roll a D20+D10, depending on events.
  • 2 to 10, no votes change
  • 11 to 15, a voter has had enough with you and tries to go back. Roll a persuasion (med) to avoid losing a vote.
  • 16 to 20, a voter is upset with you. Roll a persuasion (hard) to avoid losing 2 votes)
  • 21 to 24, a voter dies, unless you are clever, it is lost forever.
  • 25 to 29, a voter switches alegiencies (roll to see who they switch to)
  • 30, you loose all voters and the voting pool for this group goes down by a d6 to one of the random other factions.
  • Groups in Town: Aristocrats - 15 Votes Miners Guild - 5 Votes Logging Guild - 15 Votes Craftsmen Guild - 5 Votes Traders Union - 15 Votes Courtesans - 10 Votes Hunters Guild - 5 Votes Clergy - 8 Votes Military/Guards - 10 Votes Commoners - 5 Votes Council - 7 Votes

    Trying to push a plot/policy

On top of random events that need to be voted on, there will be occasional votes that the council can push through. These take time to make up and get properly written in as well as consulting with the various other groups to ensure there will be support. Successfully doing this activity will mean you force a vote, and all non owned votes will vote in your favour.

    Building a Building

Can construct any kind of building in any of the districts. Doing so costs money, but could potentailly increase followers, income, or general city stats. See the buildings table.

    Running a Business

If you have a business (see buildings above) you can spend time working there. This will get you directly, 50% of the profits.

    Working on a Skill

You can spend time trying to gain a new skill, work on gaining proficiency, work on learning a language...ect. Discuss what skill you wish to learn with your DM to figure out an estimated timeline and what is required to suceed.
