Into Maglubiyet's Lair

After falling unconscious in the caves of the Avonbourg Tips, the party wake to find themselves caged in a large cavern. Goblins, Ogres, and Bugbears all celebrate around a tall, darkened, battle-scarred goblin, known as Maglubiyet. Unbeknownst to anyone else, Maglubiyet is actually Trog, a goblin king who was "possessed" by an aspect of Maglubiyet. He's not actually possessed. He was gifted the Will of Maglubiyet by a Duergar King for the purpose of driving the goblin folk out of the Northern Avonbourg Tips and making it difficult for passersby to get to Mumum. The party must get out of dodge before the goblins decide they're hungry again. Luckily, Maglubiyet calls most of the goblinoids to search for escaped prisoners, who made their way out of the cages during a ritual. Maglubiyet sees the three groups as sacrifices for him.

Plot points/Scenes

Goblin Hive
The town is still in the beginning stages of development. A crevasse inside the mountain has construction crews on both sides building huts that jut from the walls and many bridges that connect the gap. Maglubiyet's lair is located in the middle of the right cliff with half of the lair open to the rest of the town. It is a circular cavern with a natural "staircase" that leads up to a large platform with a makeshift throne of bones on top. A large iron pot hangs over a big fire pit in the middle of the room. That's where sacrifices and feasts are made in Maglubiyet's honor. Small tunnels just large enough for goblins to travel through are all over the town. The cages are near the entrance, or open half of the room.
DC 8 to pick the lock on the cages. DC 13 to break or bend the bars.
Once to the entrance, there's a bridge across, a pathway up, and a pathway down. The bridge leads to an armory and more caverns that connect to the railway. The pathway up leads to living quarters and a cavern that exits the top of the mountain. The pathway down leads to a treasury and caverns that lead to the railway.
Caverns/Traps
The Goblin town gives way to natural cavern, which connects to an underground railroad that is pretty new. A ladder leads to an opening that lets out among the tall grass of the planes next to a large rock not too far from the road or the mountain.

Structure

Exposition

Maglubiyet's Sacrifice
A large iron pot hangs over a roaring fire that licks at it's base. The liquid in the pot bubbles over every so often. The fire casts shadows of hundreds of dancing goblins, ogres, and bugbears. The pounding of drums and the clatter or bones makes for very disharmonious music that maintains a powerful beat. A larger goblin with a pot belly and darkened skin lounges on a mound of bones and fur that been haphazardly put together to make a throne. The goblin wears furs of all different types and a jagged blade with a strangely curved handle hangs on his waist. A couple rusted cages across the way have a few humanoid bodies sitting in them. An ogre stomps over to one of the cages. He yanks out something that makes a horrible screeching sound, like a giant bird. The ogre turns toward the fire and begins to take the slumped shape to the pot. You can see a woman's body with large talons as feet and dark grey wings that hang at a strange angle, like they've been broken. As she struggles you can see that her hands also end in large claws, and her face would be beautiful if not for the clouded over eyes and shriveled mouth. The drums become louder and louder as the ogre carries her to the pot. The larger goblin sits forward eagerly, some bones falling from his lap. The dancing goblins start chanting.
The ogre ascends the ladder to the top of the pot and lifts its prisoner up for all to see. With a deep rumble, the ogre joins in the chanting of the goblins and throws the woman into the pot. A loud hissing mixed with inhuman screams adds more discordance to the music.
Others in the Cage
You see a dark-skinned person clad in half plate armor and a blue shawl. From this distance it's hard to make out details, but you do see he has short hair and one of his arms is bereft of armor. Another figure dressed in purple with longer brown hair sits beside him.
You notice a glint out of the corner of your eye. It belongs to a skulking figure at the entrance of the giant room. Wearing black garments is a mostly covered golden Dragonborn. They slowly make their way over to the other cages. Dialogue seems to take place and the Dragonborn opens the cage, looking back over to the goblins to make sure no one noticed.
