Kelly's first appearance was on the first MoTW one-shot, introduced as a high-schooler chosen along with a group of peers to join the secret society known as the Book Wyrms. During the adventure, she uses a magical can of aqua-net hairspray to assist a teammate in lighting a sea monster on fire.   She later appears in the first Monster of the Week campaign, joining a different group of peers to take part in a road trip across the continental United States. Each member of the team was drawn together based on a mysterious artifact or item they possessed. Kelly's was a butterfly hairclip that was used to help open a secret passage in an RV that revealed a tape regarding "The Rules of the Road" (rules of the road would go on to represent secret messages about their trip during the campaign).   The first strange entity the group makes contact with is a witch-like being who attacks them on the road. They escape, eventually making it to a diner where Kelly gets kidnapped by a group of vampire-like monsters who intend to sacrifice her to that goddess/witch (the same one they encountered on the road), but thankfully the rest of the team steps in to save her.   The team gets a new tape, mentioning a diner where they are to order a specific meal. They do so, and then must solve a series of riddles.   The team eventually comes across a house that is haunted by an entity who was burned alive by evil people back in the day over accusations of being a witch. Kelly goes off alone in the house and finds the man’s wife who accuses her of “playing nurse” with her husband.   The crew defeats the witch, but not without causing a lot of mayhem outside resulting in a wrecked RV and a hospital stay. At the hospital, Lexi (a teammate) is confronted by her aunt (Ms Turner), who takes the crew in a limo to her house. They have dinner together and during that dinner Kelly learns Eleanor (another teammate) is a werewolf. They also learn Ms Turner is seeking a demonic-like "horn."   The next day, the crew hits the road and heads toward the beach (Kelly's suggestion). Along the way, they come upon a wooded, secluded area where a “normal” hunter attempts to hunt bigfeet and a werewolf.   In this arch, Kelly gets separated and spends a good bit of time with the hunter, confronted with a possible future for herself… either via Ms Turner’s racism toward monsters or the hunter woman’s racism toward monsters. This comes as a turning point for the character, where she goes from being afraid of Eleanor to protective of monster races.   For example, Kelly is the first of the team to really accept the bigfoot characters and she does not judge them at all, showing that deep down (WAY deep down) she is much different than both Ms Turner and the hunter. This also creates a rivalry with the hunter, though we do not see her again in the campaign.

Stone Harbor

Kelly and the crew make it to the beach, but first they encounter an angry family on the road (Herb's family). After an argument resulting from road rage, the team gets to Stone Harbor and manage to secure a penthouse suite by sharing one with an older woman who doesn't seem to mind the company.   The crew then heads to the beach and engages in some flirting with the locals. Kelly becomes the “Jellyfish Queen” by winning a prize at the boardwalk, and the team enjoys the carnival before splitting into two groups (One group heads to the beach while Kelly, Sasha and the bigfeet head toward the town to check out a strange occurrence they see in the windows of a nearby building while on the ferris wheel).   Kelly meets a girl named Marisol (Mari), who is a lot like her. Initially, the pair of them butt heads, but when things turn serious they team up to escape a ghost who appears to be obsessed with a necklace Mari finds. Meanwhile, Ace and Eleanor investigate the beach with Dan and discover that the “killer snails” might be two rather than one. When everyone meets back up, the team follows a boy who Kelly convinces to take them away toward a historical museum called the “Witches Well.” There, the team follows the well tunnel toward a strange room where Marisol’s uncle eventually shows up. When he arrives, he shares quite a bit of information with the team. Kelly finds a picture of Brad Griffon, a boy she used to date, and she believes this is a sign and becomes intent on finding him. The uncle hires the team to work for him on their “busiest day” of the year.   The group tracks down the “owner” of the necklace and Kelly converses with her. This is where they learn that the woman's power is limited to her actual yard and home. They also have a serious encounter with a police detective.   Kelly, Ace and Sasha go to a roller rink and discover the game of Jinga (it's being playtested by the creators). They meet a girl (“Crazy Callie”) whose boyfriend was attacked by the monster in the ocean. Kelly butts heads with her a lot. The people of Stone Harbor appear to start showing signs of possession in response to a song being played over the city speakers.   The crew escapes the zombies to their hotel, where Herb Hershel has to save them. They then band together to save Herb’s daughter, discovering the black horn Ms Turner was after along the way.   The Bigfeet appear to be captured during this time, much to Kelly’s dismay.   Kelly, Eleanor and Sasha come across Sir Fortune (a fortune-telling machine on the pier). It gives Kelly a red card, which they discover to mean that she is marked for death. On the plus side, it also gives them hope that they might find the Bigfeet.   They go to the lighthouse and travel back in time to discover Gregory was once a red-coated, eye-patched man. They also learn that Gracie was once married to Gregory. They then discover a clue indicating twinkies are the key to saving Kelly’s life and finding the Bigfeet.   A crazy encounter occurs involving a chase on the sandy beach in which Kelly tries to get the crew to safety by driving, but the RV gets demolished in the process when the "possessed" bigfeet attack, and Kelly sings her heart out to save the Bigfeet, somehow managing to break the spell on them by putting her life at risk.   Old Greg enters the beach again, killing innocent people to take the place of the Bigfeet who were freed by Kelly. Kelly, meanwhile, has to be removed by a stretcher.   Kelly awakens in a hospital and tries to escape, but she is captured and put into a cage in the basement. On the plus side, she finds Herb’s daughter is also being kept there and she launches a plan to help rescue everyone by singing the same song that was used to possess people earlier.   Later, she learns that since she sang this song twice in a contest for the horn, she has begun to take on demonic features, beginning with a second row of teeth she is now growing.   The crew realizes that they can’t lose the horn unless they accept a challenge for it…and then suddenly remember that they had signed up for a volleyball tournament while they were at the roller rink.   A volleyball tournament ensues, in which the team wins and maintains ownership of the horn. This is when they first encounter The Organizer, a devilish deal-making demon.   After the volleyball tournament, Kelly and Sasha and Ace investigate the mayor’s house, finding a secret passage that leads to a “Vault” that seems to house a magic tea set (as well as an area that would have housed the horns).   They make a deal with the Organizer, giving him their horn (which appears to have been ripped from his skull), in return for getting back everyone lost during the tournament, Kelly’s curse to reverse, and a few other caveats.   Kelly rallies the hospital escapees into an army after this, Ace buys a van with the volleyball tournament victory money, and Sasha gets the bigfeet reunited. Callie and Herb Hershel join the army, and the newly assembled crew heads out to find the Organizer.

Masks

In the campaign finale of Masks, Eleanor and Kelly guest star to help the superheroes take out the Organizer. After the fight, both former monster hunters are invited into the Blue Rose.

The Blue Rose

Some time has passed and Kelly is now a student within the Blue Rose. It is mentioned that Eleanor has gone on to study at Strixhaven, while Kelly remains at the inn. Also mentioned is that Kelly spent some time in a different world to get familiar with the differences between 1980s Earth and the worlds of magic.   Her first official task is to help save a wedding for giants, which she tackles head-first along with teammates Lies, Biff, Nallynn, Sparkle and Ice.

1980s teenager-turned-self-proclaimed Leader of the Blue Rose.
