Barend's story so far
Barend was always a little bit on the short side, even for a dwarf. Therefore he always got picked on by the other dwarf children. After a disappointing childhood Barend decided to get revenge on his bullies. He made a plan to become the best warrior he could be. He trained for a few decades with the dwarfs at the Kraghammer barracks and became a pretty decent warrior. After this he upgraded his fighting skills by collecting all kinds of weapons. After have collected some weapons Barend tried to upgrade them. During so he became a blacksmith with a good eye for exquisite weapons and armors. He fell in love with the biggest swords, hammers and axes and showed them to everyone he knew. He didn’t feel small when parading with a giant double-bladed great-axe with gnome skulls on his back.
After collecting a large variety of abnormally big weapons. Barend looked for his former head bully. Barend confronted him with his troubling past to seek closure. Unfortunately the bully didn’t recognize Barend and had no recollection of bullying him. Then a long tiring conversation took place. After this the former bully did remember Barend but explained that hey never bullied him.
Barend, shocked by the fact that his whole life goal was based on a false memory of a small dwarf child, fell into a rage. He smashed his head in with the blunt part of a battle-axe and left Kraghammer.
He felt hunted and in danger when travelling away from his birthplace. Doing so he collected every piece weapon or armor he could find. Barend become obsessed with collecting and hoarding equipment. Everything, big or small, he stored away in an enormous backpack on his back. With nowhere to go to or any other purpose he continued his search to the biggest and rarest weapons in Exandria.
Now, at the age of 138, Barend has hoarded a load of weapons and armor that he still carries around in his enormous backpack. After there was no more room in this backpack he decided tot bind the larger swords, axes and knives on it.
When fighting he uses in one hand a Warhammer and in the other a battle-axe. As he fight he transforms in an axe- and hammerwielding whirlwind which thanks most of his volume to his backpack full of spinning knives.
Barend got orange hair with an orange dwarven beard. He wears a well made heavy armor set with an giant belt that holds his backpack in place. He wears an big helmet with an even bigger comb. He thinks this makes him look taller. It doesn’t.
In secret Barend wants to return home but he has no idea of the consequences of his actions after he left. One of the reasons for hoarding weapons is to find the biggest, baddest dwarven gear so he can demand respect if he comes home.
