The mortal-born archlich Vecna, recreates a version of The Raven Queen's ritual and ascends to godhood, becoming Vecna, the Whispered One. A group of heroes battles Vecna in his tower and wounds him sufficiently to complete a ritual of isolation, forcing his divine form out of the Material Plane and behind the Divine Gate.
