Session 7: Catha Rising
General Summary
In the aftermath of a trying battle with serpents seemingly sent forth by Zehir, the party attempted to puzzle out the seemingly divine events of the day. With Nyckle Knackle retrieving the luminous orb from the bottom of the pond, the party came to understand it as a miniature version of the moon Catha and further the red orb that dissipated was likely a similar miniaturized version of the lesser known moon Ruidus. While light seemed to shed on these mysteries, they left the party with more questions than answers as they found themselves increasingly involved in machinations of the gods and their emissaries.
Deciding to head back to Halnen Acres, they decided to spend the night to recuperate. In the night, Tev Mosswood dreamt of carrion and maggots that left him with a foreboding sense of dread that kept him from a decent night's rest. The morning brought questions to Tev and new hypotheses about what to do with the lunar orb. Nemeia begrudgingly gave the Rod of Retribution to Nyckle. The curious druid attuned to the rod and touched it to the orb, calling forth a bolt of lightning that left the entire party in a state of utter shock! The orb seemed no worse for wear and no perceptible effect. Verdi extended their stay at the Halnen Farm to recover. In the night, Nyckle dreamt of transformation and rebirth, of creatures of ruin becoming creatures of growth, cycles of death and rebirth.
This dream prompted the party to return to the dragon turtle corpse, finding the scene to be refreshed, rid of the ichor and rot that existed the day before. Tev discovered and shared a discovery; from the he symbol of Zehir emblazoned on the dragon turtle shell sprung forth a verdant moss.
