Mama’s Gardens
A high level Druid only known as mama has claimed a valley between two mountain ranges. This land has been warped by her powers and takes on many strange forms. Two miles from the Copia Lake this homestead is self sufficient and requires no outside travel to live here.
Purpose / Function
Mama’s main purpose of her garden is to have a safe respite for all her animals and “children”. She grows most of the herbs, veggies, and fruits she needs here.
Design
Eranor, The Great Turtle
Eranor was once a normal Galapagos tortoise, Mama was so fond of him she decided he would be the first to be awoken and enlarged. This beast now partakes in his favorite activity sleeping and only awakens for the secret beneath him. Eranor is about 30 feet long and 20 feet tall at his highest point, his shell has moss, grass, trees and all manor of plant life jutting of him making him blend in until he moves. Underneath this tortoise lies the abode of Mama, the only way to reach this area is to ask Eranor to stand. Revealing beneath him a make shift elevator for lack of a better word. This 3 by 3 structure made of vines, branches and leaves has become fused with the tortoiseMama’s Home
Once Eranor lays back down, you are lowered into a musky and humid room, a fire place is seen across the room with a natural branch arm chair with moss cushions and colorful flower designs. All rooms have a gnarled root ceiling with orange bioluminescent mushrooms found in the gaps between that only have a height of about 5 feet. All the furniture is shaped/grown natural wood from tables, to chairs, to counter tops, to shelves, and end tables. Entering the room to the right of the entrance, you find Mama’s apothecary. In the center of the room is a strengthened clay cauldron with runes all along the sides of it inlaid with a magical ink. The shelves hold jars of organs, powders, dried herbs, strange colored liquids, and other components. The tables are in disarray with ancient looking tomes opened and scattered everywhere, jars, beakers, bowls and bottles of all manner of stuff, half filled and incomplete also decorate the table surfaces. The other room is where Mama rests, a humble sized room with some dressers for her homemade clothing. Her bed a raised branched frame and a mossy extremely soft mattress with a coconut husk filled pillow case.Children Cabins
These cabins are again made of the natural resources found in the clearing here, organic trees from the walls of these small structures that hold 1-3 creatures depending on the species. They are tailored to how the denizen asked Mama to decorate.Alterations
Over time she has constructed different small barns for her children which are a wide variety of awakened animals and other small fauna.
Architecture
Any building is made of pure nature either of wood or stone. The barns have Lincoln log style walls and the roofs of each building has sod and flowers on it. There are perfect circular gardens with paths between each of them, where all of her plants grow.
History
Before the Calamity before even the Age of Arcanum, Mama was the first of her kind, the gnomish people. She had come to find this land and had actually planted the first trees of the Copia Wildwood. Overtime she tried to mingle with the mortal beings but found they’re destructiveness and selfishness appalling, so she receded back into her wood to live a humble life. She overtime grew lonely and eventually began awakening the children of her forest, seeing it as the best gift she could give. Training her offspring to help her with tasks around her garden. After so many years, eventually one of her kin showed a magical talent. This would be the child that goes back into the world and find the items Mama cannot grow or find on her own, and to find out the current state of the world.
Tourism
No tourism at all. Any humanoid creature that wanders here is quickly driven out or if needed killed. Mama doesn’t enjoy taking life but she doesn’t trust mankind in whole.
