Tal'Dorei

Tal'Dorei is the name used by humans to refer to the entire continent on Exandria in which the Republic of Tal'Dorei rests, though this is purely a human conflation. The Elvish name for the continent is Gwessar, meaning "Fields of Joy".

Geography

Dividing Plains The Plains are a vast expanse in central Tal'Dorei of fertile, hilly prairie. Much of Tal'Dorei's farming takes place in the Dividing Plains.   Kymal: A mining town transformed into the center of gambling and drug trade in Tal'Dorei. Hometown of Kaylie. Westruun: A central city in the Republic of Tal'Dorei with a large population and a pivotal location for the movement of goods across the continent. Foramere Basin: A low-elevation region in central Tal'Dorei to the east of Kymal where water from three rivers comes together in a giant lake.   Cliffkeep Mountains The Cliffkeep Mountains are a system of mountains in northern Tal'Dorei.   Fort Daxio: Key Republic military stronghold located on the western side of the Cliffkeep Mountains, north of Emon and west of Kraghammer. Gatshadow Mountain: An enormous mountain at the southeastern tip, just northwest of the Bramblewood Forest and Westruun. Kraghammer: Underground dwarven citadel; primary source of mithral; home of arcanists of House Thunderbrand. Lyrengorn: Independent and neutral city-state of wild/wood elves in the far north. It is located on the southern edge of the Neverfields, the icy wastelands on the northernmost edges of the continent. Terrah: The home of the Earth Ashari, located in a bowl-like valley in the center of the Cliffkeep Mountains north of Kraghammer. Vulkanon: A fire giant city-state and the heart of their civilization. It is located in the magma tunnels below the Cliffkeep Mountains Pools of Wittebak: A forest ravine with pools, and a single small home which was inhabited by Sprigg.[7] Yug'Voril: An illithid city in the Underdark, it can be accessed through Kraghammer and it's the home of Clarota.   Bladeshimmer Shoreline The Shoreline stretches across the central western coast of Tal'Dorei.   Emerald Outpost: a garrison and town originally established by the elves of Syngorn as a secret outpost to keep an eye on the growing Kingdom of Drassig; now a shared military installation between Syngorn and the Republic of Tal'Dorei. Emon: Capital of the Republic; home of Vox Machina, Shaun Gilmore, and Allura Vysoren; site of Greyskull Keep (former home of Vox Machina) and the original Gilmore's Glorious Goods. The Shalesteps Ruins of O'Noa Daggerbay Salar: Capital of an aboleth empire crushed at the end of the Calamity, but whose survivors have gradually rebuilt in the centuries that followed. Vos'sykriss: Capital of an ancient serpentfolk empire, left in ruins by The Calamity.   Lucidian Coast The coast is a region on the eastern side of Tal’Dorei. It is framed by the Dividing Plains to the west, the Lucidian Ocean to the east, the Parchwood Timberlands to the north, and the Stormcrest Mountains to the south.   Drynna: a sleepy town located where Mooren River Run meets Mooren Lake. K’Tawl Swamp Mooren Lake: a crystalline lake northeast of the Summit Peaks on the Lucidian Coast. Stilben: Small port city on the Lucidian Coast where Vox Machina met. Summit Peakshome of the Air Ashari village of Zephrah. Zephrah: home of the Air Ashari at the portal between the Elemental Plane of Air and Exandria in the Material Plane. Zephrah is located at the very top of the Summit Peaks mountain range, on a small plateau with cliffs on either side.   The Neverfields Jotunborg: A fortress city of the frost giants, located somewhere in the Neverfields.   Parchwood Timberlands The Timberlands is a dense pine forest surrounding Whitestone and the Alabaster Sierras.   Alabaster Sierras: A mountain range extending along the perimeter of a peninsula in northeastern Tal'Dorei. Skyanchor Citadel: The greatest fortress of the stone giants, hidden somewhere deep in the Alabaster Sierras. Whitestone: A city ruled by the Chamber of Whitestone from Whitestone Castle, the home of the De Rolo family after it was reclaimed from the Briarwoods. Formerly an independent city-state, Whitestone joined the newly reorganized Republic of Tal'Dorei following the Chroma Crisis in 811 PD.   Verdant Expanse The Expanse is a huge, dense primeval forest, full of fey energies and is considered, on the continent of Tal'Dorei, to primarily belong to the elves. It covers much of the southwest of the continent excluding the Rifenmist Peninsula, stretching from the Stormcrest Mountains to the coast of the Ozmit Sea.   Syngorn: Elven city; home of Vax'ildan and Vex'ahlia's father and half-sister; defensively faded into the Feywild after the Chroma Conclave attacked Tal'Dorei. Shifting Keep The Gladepools: a chain of disjointed small bodies of water into which flow both salt water from the Ozmit Sea and fresh water running off of the Stormcrest Mountains, creating a marsh.   Rifenmist Peninsula The Peninsula is a landmass on the southern end of the continent, mostly covered in jungle. The southernmost region is home to the totalitarian Iron Authority.   Beynsfal Plateaus: Site of the Iron Authority. Ezordam-Haar Hdar-Fye Ortem-Vellak Rybad-Kol TTz'Arrm: the capital of the empire. Mornset Countryside Byroden: The birthplace of Vax'ildan and Vex'ahlia and hometown of Opal. Rifenmist Jungle: a vast jungle covering Rifenmist Peninsula. Qoniira Tetrarchy: An ancient, magic-honoring civilization thought to be left in ruins; its capital Niirdal-Poc remains populated but hidden.   Stormpoint Mountains   Stormcrest Mountains   Frostweald: a forested region south of the Foramere Basin in Tal'Dorei, shrouded in an eternal winter and a Portal to the Feywild. Other Notable Locations Jovatthon: An invisible flying city-state of cloud giants and the site of the Council of Seven Scepters.
