Solas

A remote village in the Greying Wildlands that is home to a tribe of firbolgs who worship The Luxon as their god. Solas is located in the low lands of the Flotket Alps where they run down into the Savalir Wood.   Solas is built around a giant sunflower that provides light and warmth to the inhabitants. The sunflower is a sacred symbol of the firbolg’s connection to nature and the sun god, the Luxon. The sunflower is nourished by the Luxon Beacon kept in the shrine. The town is mostly peaceful and harmonious, as the firbolgs value cooperation and kindness. They are skilled farmers and herbalists, and they trade their produce and remedies with other friendly races. The town is also home to some fey creatures, such as pixies and sprites, who help the firbolgs tend to the sunflower and the fields.   The firbolgs of Solas are loyal to their clan and their leader, a wise elder named Suna. They celebrate the solstices and equinoxes with festivals and rituals, and they honor their ancestors and their patron deity, the Luxon. They are curious and friendly, but also cautious and wary of strangers. They prefer to avoid conflict and violence, but they will defend their town and their way of life if threatened.   The town is protected by a magical barrier that keeps out unwanted visitors and harmful influences. However this has recently been broken. The village has recently come under threat by a green dragon called Valdemar. Somehow the dragon managed to disable the magical protection that the village benefitted from.   The dragon preys on the village but is itself protected by the Archdruid Wyllow. The Wyllow Wood is the name for the small patch of woodlands protected by the Arch Druid, just south of Solas.
